Angry

What a bunch of muppets they are Yesterday I advertised my car on Autotrader and less than 2 hours later I had Cardata on the phone the dozy woman would not accept no for an answer and in the end I was forced to put the phone down on her and it made me very angry for a few hours When I repeatedly told her I wasn't interested in anything she had to offer the daft bitch asked if I wasn't interested in selling my car well of course I am you silly bitch but not with you

Are they connected to Autotrader in anyway because they phoned me so soon after the advert went online.

Thanks for reading my rant

Paul

Just tell 'em it's already sold.

I use the same theory on people selling kitchens/double glazing/household things by telling them the house is rented. They can't get off the 'phone and onto the next call fast enough.

Tell em you saw the report about them on watchdog and are therefore not interested.

Or follow TK's advice. I think mine would annoy them more though.

The woman really wouldn't let me speak I had to shout over her that I wasn't interested while trying not to scare the kids at legoland I so wanted to be rude but there was not the place

I am off to try and contact autotrader to see what they say.

Paul

p.s any suggestions of what to say the next time they call are all welcome the funnier (and ruder) the better

Unless it's Jehovas Witnesses - The answer the door an d tell them they have interupted whilst you where having sex, they should then ask if you are married to which you reply - "Don't be stupid, i would never marry a goat!!!"

I had the same from them when selling the 3-door mate, in the end I had to tell her I refused to hand over any more money to advertise the car. She got off the phone a bit sharpish after that, I can tell you

(Serious hat on) - Registering with the Telephone Preference Service cuts the number of nuisance calls. (/serious hat off) A good one that I've used is to stop the caller in mid-flow. Tell them that it isn't convenient to speak at the moment, so could they give me their home phone number and I'll call them back at a time that suits me. Make up the rest of the conversation as you go...

register with TPS or tell them no and hang up.

do not EVER bother trying to annoy/delay/etc them.

i spent a few years doing cold calls and every call is to someone who thinks they are funny/clever. it becomes completly excepted that this happens and so doesnt even register in the brain of the cold caller. so while you're of ranting on a website about it they dont give two hoots.

.......but if giving them some novel abuse makes you feel better then why not waste your time doing it?

Personally I field lots of calls here from French tel-sales people-I always speak in French then pretend I don't understand what they are saying........the sense of frustration on their part is palpable. I'll be tring the same tactics on UK cold callers- parlez vous- francais, putain? LOL great fun.

If I wanted to speak to them I would of called them as far as I'm concerned.....

I've always told them I'm on another call and I'll just put them on hold for a minute till I've finished. I think the record stands at just over 8 minutes
