I had a thought for some time now that what if the majority of Computer Viruses that are spread around are from the same people that claim to cure them i.e. Norton / Mcafee etc etc?

I wouldn't be suprised if they paid people to create these viruses outside of their own company and then write the cure's at the same time. Lets face it - if virus stopped tomorrow major companies like this would be out of business. So why wouldn't they try to secure their own livelihood in this way?

Maybe I'm just being paranoid but........

I reckon they do a bit of this sort of thing. I also reckon companies like CL1ff0rd / T0@d do it just so they can come up with newer and more expensive alarms for us all to buy!
