Question ICE virgin, help....!

I've got myself an apline cda9833r with four good alpine speakers, front and rear all fitted into my wagon. I want to boost up my system but honestly haven't a clue about incar systems. I want to add an amp (but I dont know anything about them) which will take the four speakers and a descreet sub.

Any suggestions?

I'm sure I'm losing alot of good sound through the poxy standard cabling.

Cheers

Murfs,
This forum seems a bit quiet compared to days of old, but in my worthless opinion and the general concensus, the best basic system seems to be decent fronts and a sub powered by a 3/4 channel amplifier.

I've got Infinity components in the front which are hooked up to a Kenwood 8401 amp, the other two channels are bridged to one output which will be powering a sub, housed in a custom enclosure in the spare wheel.(all I have to do is build the bloody thing!).

The Kenwood fits nicely under the front seat and you could always go for an Auto acoustics stealth box if you want to kep it discreet, either that or a chap on here has recently bought an Infinity Basslink.

The choice is endless!

Thanks for the offer of help Paul but I'm in Ireland.
Did you put the amp in the spare wheel space or to the side behind a wheel arch? And where did you fit the sub? I was thinking of making up something in MDF or fiberglass, moulded to the arch shape for both sides in the boot, one for the amp and one for the sub.

nice,i just used a piece of mdf across the back seats and bolted both the amps to that,my RB5 doesn't have split rear seats so covering them from behind was no problem.

Not the tidiest install but it sounds nice and it's out of sight in the boot, excuse the shelf brackets bolted to everything but the sub box kept rolling over everytime i put my foot down
