Newbie with questions...
Hi,have arrived here via passionford(i drive one of "the enemy").Got some q's for scooby owners.Am thinking of spending about £10k on a uk spec Impreza later this year, how reliable do you lot find them?
Are they very expensive to run as an everyday drive?
Any major problems to look out for?
Any reccomendations for insurers?(im 31)
Anything else you can tell me!!
Cheers.

Reliabilty - fine if you get a decent car (I would imagine someone here could tell you what to look out for especially)
Expensive to run everyday - Insurance for you age (try Liverpool and Victoria) will be about £700-£800 depending on your postcode and where the car is at night as a rough idea. Expect about 250 miles to a tank driving normally (normal as in scoob normal not normal normal )
Enjoy it if you do get one but dont buy the first you see, shop around a bit as there should be plenty of choice at that price.

For 10K I would have thought you should be able to get an Impreza II (newage) 2001 model.
Always go for a full serviced history and preferably with a PPP (prodrive performance pack) if you can find one. The PPP will affect insurance but its essential IMHO.

I've owned my Impreza for a few weeks now, and am getting similar fuel consumption to my old MR2 Turbo - about 17mpg.
What makes me laugh is the sharp intake of breath from people when you tell them the fuel usage and insurance costs of the Scoob. Hell...if I wanted cheap running costs I've have bought a Fiesta!
Fantastic cars, though (I mean Imprezas, not Fiestas).
