Default 2000 wrx sti (GC8) - wiring problem

Good day Great scooby minds

i recently bought my scooby first project (yes i am a newby), and it came with a problem. The cluster gauges are not working but the cluster light switches on.
It seems as if the car had a burnout via the electronics but strange enough all electrical parts (electric windows, lights) work, and the car even starts and idles straight but there is no sign of life on the gauges (the speedo, petrol, rev counter, etc). i noticed the previous owner had tried to install some dodgy ecu which works only to make the car start & idle straight. So i need advice on whether to strip the car out of all electronics and rewire it again, and how much would it cost me to get new wiring loom for the cluster to make all the gauges function again.

Thanks in advance.
