Got married there. Loved where we were (Reduit Beach, opposite Pidgeon Island) BUT didn't get to travel much further afield. The local's are very friendly and keen to teach you about their way of life (we went at Easter time).
I would go again and would like to see more of the Island.
Just be aware, it's not a wealthy Island and for me, the trip from airport to hotel betrayed my ignorance. This was 7 years ago, but I would imagine it's much the same.

was there in the mid 90's, loved it, presuming the road from the airport is still potholed and bumpy, as with anywhere just be sensible and don'tflash stuff about, from what I remember the beach sellers were ok not too pushy but that may have changed.

We had our honeymoon here 12 years ago, wwish we had taken the helicopter transfer rather than the bare knuckle 1h30m minibus ride from the airport to the north of the island.
To be fair, we arrived on time at our resort (with fresh goat dripping from the bumper). That said, the holiday was awesome but we didn't venture outside the resort as everything was paid for and our excursions outside reinforced the decision to go all inclusive. Speaking to the staff further made our decision to stay inside clear.

1986 crewed a boat from Rodney bay ( to New York ).
Don't recall a lot about trip from airport except running over land crabs and over hanging jungle.
Walked up to gross islet from the Rodney bay for swim one day wondered how the poor *******s in their tin shacks survived the hurricanes - but they must of
