I once tried reading a Japanese girls lips who was walking towards me last summer, no matter how hard I tried I could not understand, perhaps she should have taken off her skin tight leggings so I could have seen her lips better!

No.1 - 'Only one life, no regrets'.
No.2 - 'A' or 'One' or 'Only' or 'Single' ...... 'life given now'.
No3. - 'A' or 'One' or 'Only' or 'Single'..... 'opportunity' or 'Chance' or 'Reason'.
No.4 - 'Regret'.
As is common with a lot of Kanji, absolute meanings can be difficult without context.
Translation c/o my very helpful secretary.

With image 4 can you possibly check, if this ammendment makes it into "No Regret" please very please !!
Having been looking into Japanese for a while, I have to agree Kanji is one hell of a complex language!
Thank you again, and in advance if you can manage that last one, and many thanks to your secretary

Apparently the Kanji would be somewhat different if done by a Japanese artist.
It's always a nightmare. I have Japanese friends who laugh at the Kanji used in 'western' tattoos.
I'm not back at work now until Wednesday next week (Golden week holidays). If you can wait that long I'm sure my secretary can offer the 'perfect' Kanji.
Better to get it right I think.

Yes, now reads 'No regrets', however I have to warn you that to a native Japanese, I'm told, it doesn't look so good and would raise an eyebrow or two here.

Michael,
Sorry but my brother hasn't got back to me but it looks like you're having some joy here already. Hopefully either him or his GF, Rieko will at some point get back.
Paul.

Im having much joy here lol. Looking forward to finally getting it just right, and inked for life, hence the caution with it.
So tomorrow is a colour only day and the scroll can stay blank for now
Cheers to anyone and everyone who has helped.
