I have a friend who has only an iPad for Internet and videos and pictures.
His 16g has been filled and now needs extra storage.

I mentioned a apple time capsule however looking around and reading up its not possible to transfer images to and from a time capsule without the need for a Mac or some sort of computer.

Is this correct. Is there anything on the market that will enable him to transfer between ?

Get him to sign up to iCloud and store only reduced resolution on his phone. It will download full res if and when he views the images. That's the easiest.

However he wants to keep them on HArd drive if possible.
He's quite old and not tech savvy
