I've made a point of not reading newspapers or watching the news for quite a while now.
Main reason being its not news anymore, its propaganda which is biased to whichever political leanings the owner of said establishment has.
I cant stand being told what to think, not to mention the sensationalism of some reporters, for example:
The whole tedious business makes me sick. The only news organisation I even remotely trust is Reuters, but even thats starting to take the **** now, so when people usually read the papers or listen to the news, I listen to music and read books.
Ill informed? maybe, but its better than being morbidly depressed, especially if you read the Daily Mail.

50 people crushed to death in building collapse, watch it all, the bodies being dragged out, a doctor frantically performing CPR on some unlucky sod and a rescue worker wiping away a single tear whilst taking a break. We got the lot mate, here on KYTV, LIVE!!!!!!!*eat Smacky Smores*

Local free paper on the train in the morning, Grauniad at lunchtime (that's the only English one at work), BBC main page every now and then during the day. Wife might have the Beeb on at home when I'm there.
ab, it always has been biased, but as long as you know of the biases, you can take them in hand. I don't read much in the Grauniad about Palestine from now on, for example.

Watch the news a bit but main source is the BBC website alongside the Thunderer on Sunday but as Brendan says, you need to have your bull**** detectors on and read between the lines.

Both. I think it is important to know whats happening and to get information from different places in an effort to find the least biased description in the end. Its is true that it gets "egged up" so you have to try to read between the lines.

I read The Sun at work during the day, it gives me their take on what's going on in the world after that i can make my own informed decision on the stories.
I occasionally catch the channel 4 news at 7 after hollyoaks
Plus Unclebuck or Mart's usually boring snippet from the BBC about Labour or big Tone which of course i heed very seriously (honest)
