BUT: if they release the whole lot, it will show that the targets have been badly missed, JUST before the government needs all hands at the pumps for the vote on the education reforms, which they are losing at the moment.

So...........what do they do? Release the figures for Science, which look good, while delaying those for Maths and English, which are crap!

And can you imagine the response the DFES would give to some poor beleaguered school that asked for the same treatment when league tables were released?
