Nope. Use something similar all the time although it wasn't as expensive as that one.

I use a similar thing, mines made by tutlewax people company majig. They are excellent on the flatter panles like boot, doors, roof, bonnet etc, but certain bits you still need to use a chamoise.

Thanks flatcapdriver. I think Halfrauds do a similar and cheaper alternative. i just wanted to ask as my old chamois has seen better days and didnt want to buy another one if the 'gadget' actually worked.

Thanks all.

I should edit my first post to say lazy and tight!

Mine was £10 from Halfords for a Turtle Wax one - as said up above, great for the roof and bit panels.

Very good product - I have a "wipa-Blade" (identical to the turtle wax one) had it for years.

Creates less polish scratches than a chamois does
Just NEVER get any grit on the blade though - obviously

Learnt that one. I washed the Landy for the first time in two years a couple of weeks ago, shortly followed by the Scoob. Guess what? Yep, picked up some grit off the Landy leaving a small scratch on the Scoob's front wing. Fortunately, I took it into the local tyre dealer to get the balancing sorted out who managed to dent the wing by lifting it instead of putting it on planks before the jack so I'm getting that repaired FOC tomorrow by them.

Sadly, the balancing failed to work as I have a buckled wheel so not quite the saving I could have made.

Bought one years ago from when the Motorshow was still in London!!!

£6 at the time and it was great. It's probably stuck in a box somewhere in my parents garage. I really must get it back....

Thanks guys. Off down to Halfords now!
I might even treat myself to some neon underlights whilst I'm there!

You could always use your windscreen wiper. Been doing it for years and have never had a problem. Just give it a clean before hand thats all.

water baldes are good...but now i use the flash car wash and would never go back to drying a car again.

why would you spend ages rubbing it with an old leather when you can spend 2 mins hosing it down with flash and it dries perfect every time?

Looked at the Flash car wash thing......scottish genes kicked in, dusted off my wallet, shooed the moths away and begrudgingly handed over the dusty tenner for the blade
