A few of us are off there from Edinburgh for some of the night rides in late October.

Is there anywhere good and local - preferably with a pub attached - that anyone can recommend for accomodation?

Alton Towers hotel is all very nice but at £160 per night per room is a little excessive

Hi Willie.

Drop me a mail. I live about 10 miles from AT (sorry, not that many spare rooms! ) but organised accomodation when the Southern folks came up last month to visit AT.

Chris.

When the girlfriend and I stayed at Alton Towers the base rate was £180 per night

My advice is to stay close to but not in the hotel, it cost a bloody fortune for 2 days. Also the restaurant is really expensive

Don't do what quite a number of people do book a hotel at Alton Hamshire and are then surprised they have a four hour journey.

Trus but rather sad.

All the best
