Default Post Covid comedians worth a visit

I know stand up will probably never be the same again as certain things (that are funny without being vindictive) will now be off limits! However post Covid I think we could all do with a good old belly laugh. Over the years I have seen a Jack Dee (well over 25 years ago). Peter Kay around 10 years ago. Jim Jeffries around 9 years ago and Frankie Boyle around 4 years ago. Frankie was (frankly) hilarious. The gloves were off & no topic was off the table. He actually started by saying all his material was the stuff he wasn’t allowed to use on “mock the week”, BBC etc. One woman left after a few minutes and he ripped her a new arsehole for even turning up. Jim Jeffries material at the time was new & had not recycled it so many times as he has now & again was offensive to some but wholeheartedly truthful & on point. Jack Dee was so long ago I can’t actually remember. Peter Kay was class but he just recycled his material year after year and has kind of moved away from stand up to concentrate on TV shows.Anyone got any recommendations for when people start touring again?

Forgot all about JD! Seen him as well. Very very funny and not shy of being risqué. He visited a ship I was on in Dubai on route back from Iraq years ago. He smashed the Padre big time. How did I forget about that. Thing is he literally has no material now. Everything he does is radioactive these days. Know a funny story about him actually but sadly can’t share! Bit of a dying breed, some comedians are funny and go back to normality once the show is over. Some live life like it’s an endless comedy sketch, Jim is definitely the latter!

100% agree with this. Went to see him once in stand up and twice in Sinderella; so funny.

Went to see Michael McIntyre late last year, he was good.

I used to like Jim Davidson when I was younger, but times have changed! I wouldn't find him very funny any more!

Humour changes all the time, very little comedy survives the test of time!

With everything offensive being deleted from the world I bet comedians will have to work in supermarkets.

Really rate Jimmy Carr but he is another one that seems to be recycling material. I’m hoping some comedians have taken this down period to write new material. If nothing Covid must have done material in it somewhere. Let’s face it some of the government’s choices need ripping into! But yes Jimmy Carr is worth keeping an eye on, thanks.

No one has had any new shows but older shows by say Bill burr or Jim Gaffigan are far superior, Jim Gaffigan is the best comedian I know that can do a full show with no profanities.:

That is why I said post Covid mate, hopefully the current situation has given some of the best comedians new material and when it is ok they can rip into it. I think most people have heard numerous comedians say “too soon”. I’m well up for a good laugh. Just curious on good comics knocking around atm.

You do realise post covid means before covid. Comedians obviously can't record a new show now as it needs an audience to make the show.

Hence why I said post (after) Covid. Followed by visit, as in go and see when they get out and about touring again. Also post Covid they may have some new material they have worked on during the enforced break.
