Well they'll improve the top end quality, but it all depends if you have a decent set of midrange and possibly a sub as well.

Tweeters on their own (as well as the standard wrx speakers) might well sound a bit treble heavy.

I have some Soundstream tweeters and components on my WRX 2002 and they sound amazing with the sub!

Instead of leaving the tweeters inside the doors, I decided to use the enclosure provided with the tweeters and mounted them on the outside of the doors and they look SICK!
I got the crossover mounted on the door as well.

Hi.

I have heard from many people that some of their tweeters don't work as expected and arent loud enough.

Are you running the tweeters straight off the wires from the door or are you running them from crossovers?

He would be correct if the standard unit does not allow you to control the FAD/BAL and SLA as well as the power may be low.

I suggest trying a small amp just for the tweeters (make sure the RMS is not higher than recommended for the tweeters) and should work great. Go for a second hand amp thats cheap, should be able to get one around 20 bucks. Test the amp before you buy it and see if it makes a difference.

Hope that helps
