I have a my99uk impreza and alls seems fine with it.The only thing that has caught my attention is that when driving away from stone cold just around the 2500 rev range I get a bad hesitation and then it picks back up.From the other turbo cars ive had I would have put it down to turbo lag,but this doesnt feel the same. This problem dissapears when warm and doesnt then re-occur.

They all do that sir. I was trying to find the dodgy area in the map for it, but it is not in one of the main maps and I gave up. It is of no consequence and disappears by the time the coolant is up to temp.

You can stick a MY00 ECU in and smooth it out a little, as I tried, but you won't get the same kick in the back as the MY99 one. Learn to live with it mate, its the lesser of two evils.

Mine used to go faster-slower-faster-slower-faster-slower etc on constant throttle when held steady in the 2500-3000rpm range when cold. Never occured with warm. Didn't bug me...

Simple answer to this is let the oil warm up first and keep it out of the turbo for the first few miles (takes 4-5miles for the oil to get up to running temp) and this way you wont suffer from any form of hesitation
