I'll have to put up my hand.

Leave the scoop exactly as is ... it provides for a blast of cool air over the internal FMIC pipework and still assists the turbo to keep as cool as it can. Just make sure that your alarm siren (if installed under bonnet), is out of reach.

Cool

HKS Front Mount Kit on mine, with only a cover panel for a bumper now

Scoop has been left alone, but I'm looking at other options, like a Carbon Fibre Bonnet or something...

A guy in the States (Zee) has just bought a pair of carbon mini scoops from me and he sent me some pics of them fitted on his carbon bonnet.

Cost about 400 USD, I am awaiting details of the supplier.

Cool

I see he's also adorned his bonnet with something much more attractive...

I doubt she has a problem with a Front Mounting! ROFL!

Rob,

Keep the scoop as is, fit an oil cooler where the intercooler used to be

Thumbs up

Cheers for the replies.
I dont have a FMIC myself but am looking at the possibility of developing a GRP bonnet that would work in the same way as that on the Evo. ie. sucking air out of the engine bay and encouraging more airflow through the intercooler.
Would this be of interest to anyone?
ps, you can see my previous work on www.mroscoobystyling.co.uk
Cheers Rob.

I'd like to hear about a bonnet that would create a low pressure area underneath.

If never see another set of those mini scoops, it will be too soon.

I was thinking of something like this
Where the main vent pulls air out of the engine bay, and the smaller scoop on the right will be routed underneath to feed cold air to the turbo.
Is it essential to have this air going to the turbo, or does the oil cool it sufficiently?
Would like to hear your technical suggestions.
Thanks Rob.
