Does anyone know the front & rear tyre pressure for 225 40 18.

take it you have an impreza?

you can't go wrong with 35psi all round. if the back end is a bit light, drop the rear pressures down to 32/33psi.

when you open your drivers door it should tell you on the side ov the piller mate but it will be in bar not psi

how do you convert bar to psi? is there an online calculator?

the tyre pressure guide on the door sill doesn't give you amounts for 18 inch wheels well it hasn't on my last 2 impreza's anyway

Wheel and tyre size is not the deciding factor for tyre pressures, it is the weight of the vehicle. As this doesn't (or hardly) change with moves in diameter, profile or width, the same pressures apply throughout. Personal preference can introduce variance, some like it grippy but with less feel (lower pressures), others twitchy but direct (high). Overall 33/31 is about right, the higher figure for the fronts allowing for the uneven weight distribution because of a bloody great big engine and gearbox being under the bonnet.
