Default What 1/4 times are you getting in your newage?

So took my car to the strip for the first time ever (for me and my car) and had 4 runs. Bogged down on 2 runs, on one run it jumped out of gear as i went to launch it so only had 1 clean run. Running 605 bhp on a 2.1 with stock heads, Ad08 tyres. Car is full weight and i weigh 19 stones my self. Had about 3/4 tank full of fuel and ran a 11.5. That was running 32psi in each tyre

Just wanted to know what kind of times other people are getting with similar power and newage only. I'm hoping theres more time in it with dropping tyre pressure and lower fuel levels etc. Also it was quite a hot day so obviously that doesnt help.

So yeah what are you guys running in your newages and what times are you getting???

Thanks in advance

I seen high 10s with just over 500hp. You need a classic not a lard *** newage .
Long way to go for your 10 second build

Asking a lot for a 500bhp 10 second Newage STI. Would have to be stripped to buggery with launch control, anti-lag etc etc.

This engine was planned as a stop gap, original plan is 2.35 race heads 35r to achieve the 10 second run.

As mentioned above looking to achieve the 10 second run with a 2.35. Also on first post i said this setup is 605bhp not 500.

interesting reading.

Wondering what power would be needed in a classic to achieve an 11.5?

Ive never done a 1/4 mile run but would like to. Only comparison I have is a friends 360bhp 6 speed 4 door classic did a 12.3 on a hot day at jap finale a few years ago but thats all I have to go on.

12.70 @ 105 mph. Blob eye 53 plate with 328 bhp dynod @ SRR.
Looking to get another date in October with my new turbo fitted. Hopefully a low 12. Dynod @ 371bhp

That was my reply to Buster's claim, not your time. Your time seems about right for a lardy STI with that stupidly anti-drag racing heavy power robbing gearbox.

STI or WRX?

I'd be shocked if a Newage STI could pull a 12.7 with just 328!!!!

I ran an 11.2 in my Newage WRX earlier this year, that's 660bhp, on road tyres, and not a particularly decent surface, would reckon there's a 10 in there with decent tyres/better surface/more practice

RS Matt my car is a STI
Why the shock that particular day I ran 5 times slowest time of the day was a 12.96 fastest obviously a 12.70, the run pre that was a 12.71. So not a fluke.
Its not just all about power, tyres, suspension, driver are factors that should be considered, plus I have been drag racing for nearly 25 years, so I have a rough idea how to drag race.

He's got a 2003 STI, the 2004 STI must be a lemon.

How much weight saving have you done so far? Do you have anti-lag and launch control? Big torque figure?

Space saver wheel removed, plus a few other bits that were in the boot.

I have LC yes, torque figure was 330 lb torque @ circa 4k revs

Obviously im looking to improve on that time since having my SC38 mapped.

Im going to Santa Pod on the 24th October, hopefully should be able to break a mid to low 12 if the conditions are right.

Next year a few more choice mods to add to the car, to achieve circa 420-450bhp depending what jets i use for the NOS

Im not going to be laying claims to it being the quickest WRX, there's always someone with a quicker one somewhere.

Extra info for your chart, it was an 11.27 @132 and its 660/570
