Default DS2500 Yes or No ???

as above.

4500 miles and my pads are shot. Dealer said these had to much heat in them.

Dad has just had these fitted to his VR4 and he said thy seem ok, but aint really took the car for a spirited drive yet.

So, these are for my blobeye WRX, and thoughts or comparisons

Thanls

Had 2 sets on my old car and have to say yes.
Not bad from cold but can be a little dusty also have a look at pagid 4.2-1's I think or is 4.2's I forget

Got them from http://www.asperformance.com/

Pagid rs4.2.1 is the more direct competitior to Ferodo ds2500's...........similiar all round performance but find the Pagid has better "cold" bite.............

the rs4.2 "blue" is a more trackday type orientated pad, will still work exceptionally well for the road but will probs not have the "life" of the others...........

Blue 4.2 pagids are the best for road and fard road/track.
DS2500 AP Racing rated as for road.... hmm Iam really dont know. I had DS2000 - pads for Volvo drivers they don t works first 3 stops and aftef next 6 stops are overheated.
Now Iam with 2500 not so bad like 2000 but they dont really work from cold. just like 1155 at -15°C.
Initial bite is average cold performace at OE pads level and fun starting when hot. Its all nice if you can drive in the city and you are able stay hot.

Iam dont like it much thanks Ferodo never again.Only real race pad is DS3000

I have to agree with the above.......I had the DS2500 ferrodos with my Godspeed conversion and they are very dirty, Jet washing the front wheels left a river of black down the drive and it didn't do much for the wheels either

Alyn at AS performance sorted me out with some Pagids which seem to brake the same but are much cleaner. However the pagids do make a slight noise, not a sqeal, whereas the Ferrodos were virtually silent.

I couldn't make up my mind ( after disappointment with redstuffs ) so stuck some cheapo apec pads on in the meantime at £34 with my ebc disks. They are actually pretty good if a bit dusty. Probably wouldn't stand up to track use, but for every day are not at all bad.

i had apecs mate and what ever you do, don't get anywhere near a track with them, i found they got way too hot just from spirited driving and suffered total brake fade. just sailed thru the red lights with my foot hard on the brake pedal but like you say, totally fine for day to day

another vote for alyn and pagid 4-2-1, seems a really good pad. from cold it's as good as OE but get the slightest bit of heat in them as they bite like a pitbull not to dusty and don't seem to be killing the discs either

spoke to alan at ASP, think im doing to go with the DS2500 pads, not a great deal in it price wise, and im not to arsed about the deposits, the car gets cleaned regular anyway, 3, 4 times a week

Thanks for the input guys

DS2500s are Ok - but if you use them really hard they tend to leave deposits on the discs themselves and give you loads of vibration !
