Question

I am about to change my RE010s for something like Toyo T1-S. Eagle F1 or SO2 and would like to know if anyone has found an improvement in the amount of tramlining with any of these compared to the RE010. The RE010 seems to tramline much more in the wet than the dry and it can be annoying at times.

IMHO the geometry and tyre pressures/amount of tyre wear etc, seem to have more of an effect than the make of the tyre.Other people may have a different opinion though.

I run Eagle F1s and do not tramline at all. Plus thay are the dogs cogs in the wet. (and Im a big girl when it comes to driving in the wet). The only thing about them is there is no rim guard to protect your alloys.

Have just had Toyo Proxes T1-S's fitted to replace worn out OE RE010's and it has made massive improvement. No more tramlining or squirm under braking. Only £85 fitted etc inc vat

Thanks, it looks like both Eagle F1 and Toyo's will help so it is just a question of choosing which.

I have just changed to F1's from B/stone 010's. The pressures are the same and the F1's do not seem to tramline much if at all.

I recon that the Goodyears are a lot better in the wet than the Bridgestones, bout the same in the dry, maybee a bit more grippy. That's my personal point of view and i am sure other will agree/disagree.

Bhort,

All tyres tramline to a far greater degree when worn as a consequence of the reduced tread depth. Any tyre will feel better than your worn-out covers.

For what it is worth, I don't think that the original RE010 is that bad (in the dry at least) - I am now running S-02PP's and there isn't a night and day difference. In fact, I think the original tyres were better for steering feel. Wet grip is much, much better with the S02PP's though, and tramlining isn't an issue (at least for now).

Regards,

Alex
