Hi Ryan.

What are you thinking of getting when you take the plunge?

Hi guys! Thanks for the big welcome! Well I'm going to wait for my 21st in June before I insure the car as that's the earliest I can do it otherwise the insurance is almost as much as the car! But I'm looking at a 55 blob eye sti car wise! Would love a hawk eye but I'm worried about the engines and I couldn't afford a jdm version or enough to get it forged!

You may be able to find a forged hawk for a decent budget but I reckon the Blob widetrack was the finest non-special edition car that we saw here in the UK. If insurance really is a killer then it might be best finding a totally standard car - it is worth remembering that some companies regard the PPP model as standard (Admiral did with my Blob and Bug, but not for my Hawk for some reason) but others do not.

Feel free to ask anything you want to know about these cars but they've been covered a fair bit if you don't mind searching back through the threads or member's section.

I'm looking at 8500 tops. I'm with admiral anyway and they've quoted 900 which considering my 1.2 Clio is 600 now I don't think is too bad! I'd go for blob anyway seems to be more about! Yeah thanks that's really helpful! Also having a dad who's owned an impreza for 10 years will help! Cheers guys.

Hi Ryan, as already said, welcome.

£900 is good imo (well absolutely great).
Admiral quoted me nearly 7 for my JDM Hawk with only 4 years No Claims.

Keith Michaels beat that though, so it might be worth asking around when the time comes (there's been a few threads on 'Cheapest Insurance' so a search will help you there).
