Open source mapping is another option, this doesn't require a license. Roughly £300.

I paid that for my first map, its expensive because of the licence, but I agree with Dave y, try and get all your mods first like exhaust, filter, injectors fuel pump, new turbo ( if upgrading) etc then get them fitted and have one map, saves cash in the long run because I can guarantee you will keep adding things to it, its addictive. Good luck!

That's going rate with the first ecutek remap. Cheaper tweaks thereafter.

make sure you have all the mods that you are gonna fit ready.
youll have to do map tweaks each time you change somethin . i. e decat, induction etc.

Just to say ( 'cos I can't see that anyone has) that the one-off licence fee is £150, so take that away from your £500 and bingo ! - it IS the going rate.
You'll enjoy the result, I can assure you.

Well, I paid £550 for an EcuTek map on my last car in 2008, there does seem to be a lot cheaper options available now.
I suppose, at the end of the day, it probably depends more on the skill of the mapper than the actual software used.

Also warning with ECUTek - a lot of the mappers lock their maps so that another mapper cannot 'steal' their work... So you either have to continue with the same mapper - or start over with a different mapper subsequently...
Won't cause a problem for most people - but if it might you need to know.
