Default Nos?

Have i just sworn?
Seriously though does this have a real life practical application on a forged engine with 14mm headstuds or is it just something best left for the movies?
Any tuners out there ever used it, fitted it or seen the effects it can have?

I had nos on my previous turbo car, its quite amazing stuff. It spins the turbo almost instantly. Its like the boost is always there.
Downside is having to fill the bottle with NOS all the time, is quite expensive, and for me, there wasnt anywhere local for me to get it. Although, you can buy in bulk which brings the price down and you can sell on to others with NOS installed.

If it was cheap we'd all be using it, I found it great on my old FTO years ago. It was the inconvenience and cost of the refills that put me off.

It works even better on turbo cars as it cools the charge temps down too.

So it's not that bad an option, especially if it were fitted to a forged engine?.
If it were on a switch just there, just in case, then i suppose re-fills would be less often.

There is noting 'bad' about running nitrous oxide, its just expensive and as eggy says, there are cheapy ways to make power.

Ignoring the cost, it will bag you a large dollop of torque, partly due to additional fuel/oxygen but mostly due to the cooling effect of the nitrous evaporating.

Ideal for spooling a large turbo up on a sprint course...

P.S. I know Moley doesn't like it on road cars....

Isn't it illegal to use on the road anyway which would pretty much make insurance null and void?

It's not illegal, but you must have it insured (like any mod) which is damn near impossible.

Aslo, I believe you have to have a compressed gas sticker on the car
