I did that once in my best friends 1.2 Nova. Only difference was that there was a massive kerb behind. Car went up over the kerb and into the bush behind.

I was present when this happened. Poor guy was mortified. When he pulled up to the lights originally he broke the beam and had to reverse back into position. Excitement and the race with his mate in the liner meant he forgot about 1st! Poor guy took it home and repainted it White to escape further redicule.
