Hi Nick
Cam belt renewal intervals depend on the model year of your vehicle.
For early cars (94my-99my) the interval is 45,000 mls or 3yrs (which ever comes first)
From 99my on, the interval changed to 60,000 mls or 4yrs.
Regards
Phil

Accepting that the later cars are recommended as 60k it is prudent to change at 45k, the belts are no different on material and construction and I know of cars having problems during the "interval". Yes they are expensive at £99 plus vat but labour is (should be) only 1 hour, cheap compared to an engine rebuild. Especially relevent to any car running different engine management or other peformance enhancing system.
