Question New WRX - what's the best deals?

Was sent a letter last Autumn from Subaru saying I could have a WRX for the price a Wagon cost in 1995 ...... £17,999.

Looking around now I find that the price is £18,750 or thereabouts - but, they are offering £1,000 worth of 'options' and 1/2 price PPP (£700).

That's £19,500 .... for a WRX with PPP.

Surely there must be big discounts around, as these are not selling in great numbers ..... but I cannot find what the discounts are?

When I bought my Wagon, 10 years ago, there were no discounts - I cannot believe that is the same these days?

10 years later and a new WRX is 3k cheaper then the classics

Subaru keeps their prices down unlike council ax/food/gas /electric etc ""

Halcyon days for Subaru are over, car not that rare and newer version not that desirable or much kudos these days. Add a recession and heh-presto deals on wheels

Doubt you'll get any discount on WRX. The price is already effectively discounted - it's the same price as the petrol non turbo RX.

Maybe you'll be lucky to get 2 or 3 hundred discount. Check with a dealer as mentioned above or go to a car broker - they're only at the other end of a phone after all!!!

Ws speaking to Andrew at DH cars yesterday, he was offered a job lot of 100 WRX hatches by a company who'd bought them to flog (before they HAD to be moved overseas)... and even then they wanted the same as forecourt prices...he told them to go multiply

He's been doing well with Foresters though, selling loads.

The strong Yen has effected imports mind you... how long before things dry up again I'm not sure

I think if i was in the market for a new Impreza i would go JDM in the light of recent problems with UK cars.

Do you think this is old stock as I was led to believe, some time ago, that Subaru were discontinuing the WRX in the UK due to poor sales?
