Question Any ideas on my next mods?

Hi folks,

Just needing your advice on my next steps regarding getting a little more power into the car.

I have a 2003 wrx (bug eye) remapped by and f (ecutek) to 286 bhp.

The car has a dump valve, decatted exhaust downpipe and middle section.

I am going to nurnberg for the ring in about 6 weeks and would like a little more power to keep me entertained all the way and back from germany

I dont want to spend silly money though

all suggestions appreciated
cheers folks

If you do get all these mods done to your car then get a remap straight away after you have them fitted

Whiteline ARB and rear droplinks are a must.

Then Prodrive springs and better brake discs and pads.

This will be like an extra 50 horses on the Ring.

The main problems is you wont get anymore power out of the td04 that your car has, there limit is just a little over 280bhp.
You'll get more benefit from the handling mods

yeah i was told the turbo is going to hold me back.

But they are so darn expensive to buy, then theres the remap

I was told though i could get a bit more out of my turbo at the remap though.....although i couldnt at the time as my turbo up pipe is still catted. grrrrrr

cheers again folks

Scoobyparts Ltd Whiteline

Droplinks £42ish for steel, £75ish for alloy. Do the same job, but alloy look nicer. £115 for arb.

Can be DIY fitted, otherwise about an hour labour.

Get a td04 hybrid like I got off Andy F and you with notice the increase night and day. Full boost from 3,000 to 6,500 and believe me this is where you need it. The only problem is it gets addictive and expensive because of the range of the turbo!

About 450 pounds but worth every penny. The problem is you will need a serious remap after? The push and range of this turbo is all you will need!

for 300 quid you might aswell forget about performance upgrades cos what your gonna need is gonna cost more than that!
Your next step should be drop links and ARB. There both pretty cheap to buy and easy to fit, but will transform your handling.
No point having loads of speed in a straight line, if you need to slow fight down on a corner, especially in a 4wd car.
Dont forget the Nurburg ring only really has 1 big straight, the rest is complex corners!!

I agree before you get the turbo done. Power is nothing without 1: Being able to stop. Big brakes as mine smoke all the time. 2: Handling your extra power. Thicker ARB, stiffer springs, upgraded shocks.

The above is so true!

I'm not getting mine done yet but my next mods will be brakes and suspension, and that is from real life experience without track use.

Demon Tweeks were always competetive and used to give a discount if you asked. I find the website very complicated, so you'll have to search to find prices or give them a call. It may be easier to get part numbers off the Scoobyparts site.

Try Dave @ Demon Tweeks (01978) 663 042

He used to offer 15% off. That's where i got mine from.
