Question Confused

Easy I know ..... but, I can only ever get 43'ish Litres of fuel in my tank, whatever I do.

I have run it until I dare not run it anymore, way after the light has come on - fill up and it accepts just around 43 Litres.

This made me think, for years, that I had a 45 Litre tank ...... but everyone says I should have a 60 Litre tank on my UK MY00 Classic.

Now, maybe I have 15 Litres in the tank when it shows as totally empty - or, I have a 45 Litre tank?

Evening Pedro,

I will look on policy out of interest.

As you know, we have had our differences in the past, no way would I call in the Fun Police and, neither would you.

To me it's all a bit of banter.

Good Luck.

Mr MaC ( can't say **** any more!!)

We have had our run-ins ..... and we have had some good banter. It's a shame it is being ruined by a few A*ALS

Poke your nose in Policy and have a gander at how terrible I have been

By the way - how big is my tank??

Ignore the guage, its very ****- it shows empty for ages...you can get at least another 50miles out of it after its past below the "E"

The Impreza does have a very clever audible warning system which alerts you when one is actually low on fuel:

If you start to hear the fuel pump gurgling or whining...time to find a petrol station sharpish

I did hear the pump gurgling the other morning when I was trying to work out the size of the tank. I went to the station straight away - 44 Litres!!

I'm at my wits end.

Mac

You are not missing a thing ... it is as pathetic as it appears.

Someone is being made to look very foolish, and it isn't me!

I have tried to fill up the tank and I mean run it empty !!
Reserve is about 22-23 miles motoring so at best guess you have about 4-5 litres in there, maybe more.

The most I have ever managed to squeeze into the tank is 50 litres, so it means that you are not running as dry as you can .....

Just a thought but you haven't got any damage to the underside of your fuel tank, ie where someone as accidently tried to jack it up and caused that to take part of the capacity away. If not I wouldn't be worrying about it.

If it was a 0.5 litre tank it would matter!!

Maybe that's why my Impreza is faster than others I meet? It's carrying less fuel?

well the people at the local garage would be peeved when you ignored the 2 litre minimum sign then

and if you met a scoob that had only a qtr tank full, would yours still be quicker
