Filled up with V-Power for the first time..
Am I only person who finds my car runs worse on V-power than normal SUL???
I normally fill up at a local Total garage and just buy normal SUL.. But I filled up with V-Power yesterday as I was out and happened to be passing a shell garage when I was very low on fuel...
Think I'll try regular SUL next time and if the problem dissapears I'll asume V-power is obviously too good for my car

I may be wrong but I would think your car would need a tank or two to adjust to the different fuel. Doesn't the ECU take a while to reset itself or summit?

It is worth knowing that VPower has an Octane value of between 90-93 RON depending on region, where as most Premium UL fuels are 97 RON.
Shell state that because V Power has cleaning additives it should cause less carbon build ups in the engine, hence why it doesn't need to be such a high Octane. Of course that is only the case if you have run you car on V Power from day one or since you had a rebuild, if you run your car on 95, 97 or 99RON, then it would be best to stick to it for the best performance.
It's a bit like if you train for a marathon using an old pair of trainers that are comfortable, you wouldn't change to new ones for the race

My car was mapped to run on V-Power and has had a misfire ever since which I have tried to get rid of by changing various components.
However I filled up with Tesco 99 the other day and low and behold my misfire has disapeared.

Been told by Tescos today that there not gonna have anymore 99 ron fuel for at least 2 weeks . This is due to everyone taking advantage of the 5p per litre off your bill.
Thats in Doncaster anyway.
Looks like its Shell for me then

There was no Tescos99 down here either today so i went to shell to fill up and guess what no V-Power either in any of the 3 main shell garages near me so i had to put 95 ron shell unleaded into my spec c (with about a quarter bottle of NF)
