There is a worm that is attacking phpBB boards and other forums, it simply keeps viewing pages and sapping up bandwidth.. My site has used nearly 7 gigabytes in a matter of days.. There are a few threads on the phpBB.com forums suggesting its been happening since April 4th.

Keep an eye on the number of guests accessing the site (look at the admin control panel). If there are loads take a look at your bandwidth stats; I'll bet they are through he roof for this month even though its only a few days into it.

The only current solution is to change the permissions on all forums to only be readable by registered members.
