Having owned a 106 rallye in the past (now own WRX) can safely say that there is no comparison though it did have a lovely smooth engine and drank a lot less petrol

They are right about Subaru drivers being chavs though ....... so they got something right at least?
Greats cars the Rallye's, I have met a good few owners on track days and some of them are trememdous drivers too......

Just read the thread.
My last car was a standard Audi TT 225bhp version and I had a little race with my mate in his standard 106 Gti, lets just say that he was pulling away from me until 100mph. So power to weight is something I dont over look anymore, and I have respect for these cars.
But even a well tuned N/A 106 GTi/Rallye would struggle with a standard UK2000 scooby in my opinion, it doesnt matter how light the bloody car is.
We cant complain, there are simular threads on here like any other forum.

hello, i own a 106 rallye, use 106rallye.co.uk alot as well
no one says they're "fast" cars, they can be quite quick on the right road/track with a good driver tho, as long as there are no long straights that is lol.
ive had a few plays with uk scoobys, 1 i pissed all over, he was a pritty **** driver so that could explain it but even on straight he couldnt pull away but i passed him on breaking then left him in the corners
also had a play with a 400bhp STI8 he pissed all over me lol that thing was quick! but at the next lights he commented on how quick my car washttp://forums.sidc.co.uk/forums/520707/ShowPost.aspx
check here if you dont believe me, its at the bottom of the page
no one says they're really fast cars, well there is a few that are but mine certainly isnt, i bet ud be surprised if you came across one with a good driver behind the wheel
oh n im 21, not 17 lol
altho i do have a mate with a corsa who has pissed all over every type of scooby but thats another story

I had a 106 GTi and used to wind my Subaru owniung mates up keeping with them on tight B roads which those cars are good at!
Give a Subaru a straight or an A road and it was game over though, as was trying to keep with them as the speed increased!
Now I own a 350hp STI 7 and it really is a different kettle of fish! Effortless, where the 106 was a case of trying to keep momentum up!
