Ran over some scaffolding on dual carriageway
Behind an open backed van doing 60mph on a dual carriageway when all of a sudden a piece of scaffolding comes off the flipping van and drops on the road in front of me, slammed my brakes on but couldn't swerve to avoid it as there were other cars in slow lane.It made a noise as it hit underneath the car obviously.
I have only had my car 2 fricking days I am so sad, no damage to body but must get hubby underneath it to have a look
As I was driving I couldn't write down number plate(memorised first half in my shock), I know it also would have had an impact on drivers behind me so hopefully they had a passenger who was able to take number plate down, will report to police ASAP.
The joys of driving eh!

Bad luck, but thank goodness no serious damage to yourself.
Happened to a friend on mine recently except with piece of wood and a 911, £1800 quid for a new front bumper....ouch

happend to me in my saab, a huge cobblestone fell from a tipper lorry in front of me,
hit the w/s like a bomb, i had a fist sized crack in the screen,!!!
i chased after the driver, and phoned his company (hf of course)
they tried to get arsey, so i drove to the depot and went to see the transport manager, he initially denied it, until i pointed out his driver didnt have the load cover on the lorry, and i would report it to the council..
2 mins later after talking to the driver, who confirmewd my story, i has the windscreen people calling me to arrange a replacement.

Few months ago I changed a windscreen on a Clio that had the same thing happen, apart from the scaffolding hitting the screen. Wrecked the screen of course but didn't penatrait into the car. The impact was right where the drivers head was....Realize how important laminated windscreens are.
