Default coming back to a scooby opinions please

Hi every one

Well Ive been away for abit due to me and the misses having aour first child...I bought a Zafira Gsi turbo to compromise getting rid of my scoob but im wanting to get back into the scooby again.

Ive been down to Robert Bowetts in Leeds who are now a Subaru garage aswell as Mitsi evo and Saab, been looking at either the late 04 2.0 wrx wagon or an early 2.5 wrx wagon. but there is not much in way of bhp so any one got opinions or first hand advice for either car.

By the way i was shown a 2.0 wrx SL wagon in black 04 with 19k miles for £13995

Darren

There was never a 2.5 WRX wagon made, i think you may be on about
the Legacy Estate.

I have a 96 WRX Wagon and it's superb, the full package.

The newer models are more refined but slower

The new 54/05 is now fitted with the 2.5 turbo engine out of the forester I went down to Subaru and was sitting in one in the showroom but was undecided on the looks of the new car though.

Local dealer in York has slashed 2k off 3 blobeyes 03 53 and 04 plates. 04 is now £13995. Based on depreciation I'd go for the 04 car

!st i have heard of a WRX wagon having the 2.5 turbo engine. That engine has only just come out in the impreza in the new 06 shape and the wagon hasent been released yet. You sure????

Plus it makes me laugh when people have 1 kid so go out and get a people carrier or even a small people carrier like a zafira. Why??? No more room than a normal car but with a smaller boot. **** we have kids quick get a people carrier. Kids are very wee for years you should have stuck with scoob its plenty big enough even saloon will get all the baby junk in the boot as well. **** we now have 2 wee kids lets get a espace. Phew thank god its got 7 seats i dont know how we would have managed.

Only jesting and i presume you to have realised this thats why you return to scoob ownership. Sure you will love whatever you get.

Yep you will be looking for the Brand New MY06 if you want a 2.5l engine that will cost around £21,000 from a dealer once you've added metallic paint.

i have a 55 2.0l WRX Wagon and its great same 0-62 of 6.1sec, same top speed of 143mph and the fuel consumption is better (official is 30.7mpg i think the 2.5l are down around 27).

considering i actually get 25-28mpg i dread to think what the 2.5's will do in the real world!

I actually got the Zaffy Gsi cos I liked the look of it and its got most stuff my imp didn't i.e a/c, recaro interior, 17" alloys all as standard and the other reason is it may only be one kid but the stuff that has to be carried round to take care of the little one is stupid. The travel system(pram) alone whould not fit in my imp I only just get it in the Zaffy? but once Liah is walking Im on a promise that I can have another imp but it has to be a new one.
I looked at an 06 wagon wrx with the 2.5lt engine at my local scooby garage but im not convinced of the new front end? it will have to grow on me. Think it maybe a 04 reg 2.0 it in the end
