Default About right for a starting price?

I'm looking to sell my Impreza. Is £13K about the right price to start with? Or is this a bit on the pricey side?

MY03 WRX (2003/03), UK car, 27K miles, standard kit, no mods, good condition.

Am going to stick it into the trader first.

Any thoughts most welcome!

WhatCar? says £12500, don't know how accurate it is though. I think £13k would be a good starting price.

Had a look on autotrader & the price band for similar cars is around £12000 - £14000.

I'm guessing that some of these will be imports, so I would think that imported cars may go for a little less than a UK car???

I'll get my dealer (car dealer of course!) to give me a cash quote & then stick a reasonable amount on top of that!

check www.parkers.co.uk - gives the prices for private sale, dealer sale, part ex etc...

not the be all and end all, but buyers will look at this or Glass's to see what they should be paying

Parkers come out at 13400 for a private, good condition.
Whatcar are around 12500.

Spoke to a dealer who said if I could sell it to a dealer for cash, I'd get around 11000.

This price is similar to what car's trade price (11089), so I guess the private price is a reasonalbe guide.

Will have a look at glass's & then probably stick it on for 13000 & see what happens!

Only managed to get £11.5k part exchange for my MY03 WRX in March. It only had 16k miles on it and was in show room condition - that was against a £20k STi.

Felt a little annoyed - lost £4k on the WRX in the 6 months I had it. You expect to lose money on new cars, but not as much on a used model in such a short time

The second you drive a new car out of showroom, it will devalue by 1k. You lose the most amount in the first year or 2. That's life.
