That bloody seatbelt buzzer !!!!!
I have an Sti 8 and Its driving me mad, how can I disconnect it ? I always wear my seatbelt btw its just when I get home and leave the engine running while I open my garage door its chimes like mad then I have to reverse into my garage with it still wailing in my earole. It isn't a legal requirement to wear a belt when reversing so why doesn't it SHUT UP
Do all blobeye's have this ?
Has anyone disconnected theirs

Agreed, its very annoying!
Thats some reversing your doing there if its the same mechanism as mine, mine only seems to come on when the car goes over 15mph or something like that...
One solution I've seen is to plug the passengers belt into it
I'm so in the habit of wearing a belt that I actually feel unsafe without one! (nothing to do with my driving of-course ) I sometimes find my self donning the belt even to move the car from one space to another on my drive! lol

Agreed that it kicks in it at some set speed, 25km/h sounds about right. But once this speed has been reached it stays there waiting to go off as soon as you take the belt off whatever speed the car is going at the time, even if under 25km/h by that time. It does not stop sounding just because you are stationary. Reset by turning off the ignition probably. I agree it's bloody annoying!
Will go searching for wires under the seat soon. If I cut the wires or solder them together then no doubt the thought police have programmed it to think there's a fault and so it'll shut down the ECU, phone the police and lock me in the car......

Mine doesn't go off if i've been driving and then take the belt off to reverse the car. Even if i then drive forwards it doesn't sound unless i go over 16mph.
Can i suggest that you reverse at a slower rate of knots!

Yes very annoying, I opened up the little white box above the accelerator and desoldered the piezo buzzer inside it, in this way the dash warning light still works and any other electronics are unaffected. Did this 20k miles ago no probs.
