I hope you post your times SCOOP. Good luck versus the Punto/Fiesta/Nova/Escort posse that I know are going - Show'em how it's done

Hi,
Just wondered if any Scooby drivers are going to or would be interested in going to Avon Park Raceway Nr Stratford on Avon this weekend.
The event is a test day on the dragstrip. Cars run in pairs over a standing quarter km,
runs are timed and I think its a tenner to get in.
GOOD OPPORTUNITY TO TEST YR SCOOBY HUH !!
On both Sat and Sun, sounds like good fun,
Anybody interested
Cheers

Scoop,
Might see you there, although a BMW Diesel is probably not going to set the world on fire over a quarter mile. I only live in Warwick, so it's not too far to go. I'll probably come up on my bike and have a run. reckon on low 10's! Nice

Martin,
That's right. take the road from Stratford towards Shipston, and then just after the last roundabout out of Stratford turn right towards Clifford Chambers. It's Signposted from there.

Hi,
I was at York Dragway on B.H. Monday for my first ever 1/4 mile times, and enjoyed it a lot.
My first run was against an escort cossie, and i fluffed it on the line and did a 15.3 (kinda gave up near the end). My best run was of 13.7 @ 103mph.
I found i was just hitting the limiter in fourth gear at 1/4mile.
There was another TypeR there, but when his friend spoke to me, he hadn't gone quicker than 14.7. I didn't see him afterwards to find out if my tips had helped.
Enjoy!
Phil.

I was at York too, supporting my mate in the mini v beetle comp. Had a good drool over the Scoobs, B12 reg was well quick! My brother said he'll forgive me for putting my Mini to use as a trackday car and getting a Scooby as a 'sensible' motor if its that quick! Did you see the tatty looking autograss mini with the big wheels, he had a Subaru engine fitted, supposedly supercharged!

LOL, perhaps more like a memory for faces!
Well I started working for Softlab in September 99 (Incidentally i leave in two weeks).
I spotted you in the worcester meet photos and thought i knew you from somewhere, i saw
your name in your profile and it clicked who you were. I remember seeing your car amidst all the 1.4 Rover 200s, thinking a proper car - obviously a guy with taste(lucky barsteward)!
Dont worry about me running the strip, i wouldnt Embarrass my self by even trying! I have a severe handicap - a slow car - being only 20 years of age :-(
But one day......

Hi NeilR,
It was good fun, i was the only scoob in the shootout competition, and got beat in the quarter finals by a renault 5 turbo (ahem, twin engined BTW).
Finally also had the new alarm re-installed correctly(original one was too old). I can now start her up by looking out of my bedroom window and pressing the key fob
Phil.
P.S.
You're going to hate me even more now... ive just got a Link ECU (awaiting installation) I'll keep you posted and report back ASAP.
