LOOKS WORSE AFTER WASHING.
Does anyone have the same problem as me. get the car out of the garage and think to my self there is a slight covering of dust i will give it a wash. wash the car and it looks bloody awful when the water drys and leaves white marks all over the car. wish i had just left it.
i use a auto glym blade to get most of the water off then finish with a shammy. i have tried all the shampoos that say no smear and they lie to me.
does any one have any little tricks that might stop this.
lemon juice or vinegar in the water
"to scared to try it myself in case of coming up with chemical reaction that strips paint.lol"
the only way i can get rid of it now is to wax the car. its ok now "nice weather an all" but sometimes just want to WASH & GO "copyright vidal sassoon"

You need to wax it afterwards and then no smears.
Washing itself without drying will leave marks.
But a white or silver car - then no hassles

After washing (I use Swissol Car Bath) get the water off as quickly as you can using a water blade and then use an old terry towel to dry the car off. As you are drying it off, the towel will become slightly damp and this will help get rid of the drying marks. Once dry, wax it.

No - defo not.
Swissol is quite expensive. Sometimes there are group buys on here. Paul - the distributor - is very helpful.
A Samurai starter kit for Swissol (bath, wax, cleaner and some pads etc plus bag) is around about £120 odd if I remember correctly, so not cheap but it is pretty much the best.
Meguairs is a bit cheaper.

Its the lime in the water that causes the white marks I use water from the butt in my garden to rinse and then chamois.

I have to agree, keeping a Mica blue car clean and shiny is an absolute nite mare!
particularly if you suffer from a compulsive polishing disorder, like I do
Try to only wash your car at dusk and never in sunlight....I always do mine at work, then take it into the workshop and give it a good 'blow dry' with the air line

One thing i have started doing is washing one bit at a time (like the roof) then rinsing the soap off that then go on to another bit. It stops the water evaporating and leaving the soap behind. once its all done a quick final rinse and dry, then wax if you want. I use Zymol by the way, which you can get in Halfords.

Halfords sell a brush which attracts dust. In the old days it used to be called a "Nenette" for those who remember that. Its has some kind of additive on the strands which will attract the dust and wipe off without damaging the paint, This is for light dust if you see what I mean. Chauffeurs always used to carry one about in the Rolls.
It leaves a great finish and is very quick to use, I certainly would not use anything which would damage the paint too. Certainly worth having a good coat of wax on the car as well. They always look good after a wash and the protection for the car is well worth the trouble.

Use a real chamois that you regularly wring out until it is barely damp. The trail you leave on the paintwork should dry almost instantaneously; if it doesn't, it's too wet. There should be no marks at all. HTH.
