just had a quick look, what's this all about:
"FREE MOD: Remove the stock resonator chamber in the passenger side front wheel well "
Is the resonator supposed to limit performance?
Darren.

Dave,
Yes, looks a LOT like the PPP - but the equivalent of £730 (excluding shipping/duty) - without taking into account that you are kissing goodbye to your warranty
Darren,
Resonator removal is detailed in the "Training WRX" book and is supposed to give about 4 bhp -

The PPP ECU is allegedly a Unichip piggyback board placed inside the standard ECU casing. I bet it's exactly the same board.
Take your point about the warranty/half price. Maybe that's where the price difference goes - a built in extended warranty payment on the PPP.....

Lets get this straight.....
The Prodrive Performance Package DOES NOT use a Unichip or any other parts that are available on the market elswhere.

Oops - sorry about that - just goes to show you can't believe everything you are told
However, are you saying the ECU receives a Unichip board that ISN'T available elsewhere?

No, we don't use any form of Unichip.
Where do you get these pearls of wisdom from? (:
Pieman
The point I am making is that we don't just go out and buy propriety parts from X,Y & Z and call it Prodrive. All our parts are normally specially developed for our application and are exclusive to Prodrive.

Ok, my apologies for that. I can't remember where I got it from, but clearly someone on Scoobynet that has got their facts wrong
I don't normally get things wrong..... - but let's face it, it won't be the first or the last inaccuracy that is posted on this board!

May not be too well chosen if the afm is contaminated by particles not removed by the K&N filter!
The remark about the Unichip being removeable without trace is worrying as this will obviously happen if there is a problem in the future and the car goes back to the dealer to be fixed under warranty.
I don't think Subaru would be too pleased to be defrauded in this way!
