we had a spate in the area, I now have mechanical means to stop them opening the door even if they had the key,
Nothing obtrusive and a very simple idea, can actually be used on any door with a handle.

CCTV is very useful as you know they cased the joint, so in the days before you may have seen them and not known.

Had my car stolen last year, they broke the cylinder lock on the back door at 2am and come in and took the car keys, by the time I heard them they where in my car with the lights on and doors open. I phoned the police and they did catch up with them but they couldn't keep up with the car and I never saw it again.

Insurance went on for 6 months before I got paid out, and even when I did get paid it was £4,000 less then what the car cost a month before, plus the insurance phoning up and interviewing you over the phone to make sure your not doing a scam, and the stress of a stolen car I would not wish upon anyone!!!

Make sure you put extra locks on the windows/doors and hide your keys upstairs but somewhere close if they do decided to go up stairs somewhere you can just throw at them if they threaten you or your family!!

I fitted ABS Avocet locks to all my downstairs doors last year, also fitted a couple of sash jammers to every downstairs door and windows and any large opening upstairs windows, at least i know now if anyone does turn up with the intention of getting in they won't be doing it by snapping the lock which by the way i had to do on my back door when fitting the new locks as we'd lost the key, we never use that door and the keys had gone walkabout somewhere, it was scary how easy the standard euro cylinder lock that was fitted to that door was to snap and gain entry, almost silent as well. The sash jammers were just an extra mechanical back up so at least if they do get past the locks they'll have to make a fair amount of noise to gain entry.

Feeling a lot better now, Thanks, Its getting worse round Dartford, and I notice there is loads of subaru around this area too, so keep an eye out and lock the doors.
Just a lot hassle getting all the keys changed

Do you know anything about the ABS light on the Dash?

Thanks

If I remember rightly you changed the brakes a while back? Has it been on since then? Are you having a problem with the brakes at all or is the light just staying on.

Easy to say you will do that, but in reality when there in your house, and your upstairs with your family asleep, would you really go downstairs to confront them???

Guy near me had his GTR stolen, and they held a axe to there 7 year old sons throat for the keys to his car!!!! You can replace metal/plastic/materialistic things but you cant replace a loved one or yourself.

I would have handed the keys over way before that point! (and my wallet, jag keys, house keys, watch, etc etc)!
