Default What's wrong ?

Morning all. Been out this morning to warm up the car, defrost the windscreen etc, blipped the alarm off couldn't get in the drivers side as the door was frozen so got in passenger side, warmed car up for 15-20 mins switched it off went in doors 30mins late went to unlock car and nothing. Couldn't unlock it, tried spare fob, still won't unlock. The indicators aren't flashing like they normal do when locking/unlocking. Anyone know whats wrong ?. Its a 2001 Bugeye. Never had this problem before.

You could of melted the ice into water, its moved. And refrozen, eg locks on doors maybe. Just an idea, try hair dryer on the door lock area

Donny's idea sounds more like it.

But try manual unlock first. Most batteries go in the winter

Have you tried just unlocking the car with the key?

Unlock the car with the key, open the bonnet and check the battery. Obviously if the alarm is now going off when you do this that should give you a indication of how the battery is performing.

OK. Right did as suggested and entered by using the key, got in, the indicators were flashing on the dash and l couldn't start it because the immobiliser was on but no alarm went off. Turned the ignition off shut door noticed immob light on dash still on so put key and it started. Switched it off and the fob started to work again as it locked door. Went back outside and indicators were flashing, used fob lock-unlock, car started. left unlocked walked round the car and my boot was open, probably why indicators were flashing, but not a sound from the alarm. Been out several times now and it seems to have gone back to normal. The fact l never once thought of using the key for manual entry shows how used to a fob l've become and how big an a rse l am for not thinking of the simple things, like me. Cheers to you all. I feel such a fool.

something like this happened on a mine a few years ago in the snow we had. went unlocked the car with the fob fine. didnt start it because of the noise early hours. scraped snow and ice off my car, went to disarm the imob and didnt work. wouldnt lock or anything. went inside half hour, come back out and all back to normal. never found out what caused it
