Default Car cover

Hi all,
Hope you all had a great Christmas. I received a Halfords premium large car cover as a present and I would like to know before opening it (vacuum packed so none returnable if opened) whether it is any good for a blob eye sti.
Does anyone have any experience with these car covers, and if not can anyone recommend me a decent cover please.
Thanks in advance.

Hi, thank for the reply. It is a 3 layer one from halfords, but can't tell the quality of it without opening it. I've checked and it costs £50, so I'll look into the storm force ones and don't mind putting the extra in. Really want a decent one that will do its intended job first time.
Has anyone got experience of the Halfords Premium ones?
Thanks

I use a decent one for my project car as the car is not watertight. The one I got was one of the scoobyworld ones. It has torn a few times over the years but that's due to sharp bits of metal and things on the half built car. Used the cheap two layer ones on ebay and they fall apart and blow off in the wind. But for an everyday car I think they are a pain in the ****.

You should only use them on clean dry cars... I can count on one hand how often my car is both clean and dry throughout a year in the UK! Worth it if you car sits for a while and you want to prevent bird crap and leafs etc.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. The car will be sat unused over the next 3-4 months until the weather significantly improves.
Checked the storm force covers and they are nearly £300. Has anyone got a link to a good site /cover for a newage blob sti?
Thanks in advance

Cover your car UK

Has the stormforce just checked and it's 171 quid all in with integrated alarm

If you don't select this open take off 25 quid

I had a halford one lasted a few days before it ripped, I have 3 different ones I use as they can get wet so I dry one out then swap them over, I brought one these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2215719258...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT with a few plastic grips and it works well, ( I say this one but mine is different but this is the advert I checked my ebay) a thick PVC are Heaver and stay on well in wind but don't breath so I remove on nice days and allow to dry off before popping back on.

Hi Gary,
Thanks for the thread link. I did use the search, but never came across it. I'm in two minds now. My situation is this: I have a fresh JDM Blob Eye, but as of now no garage to keep it in. I'm not driving the car now, but really could do with some extra protection for it.

Just be careful how long you cover your car for as I need a full respray on my blob sti as it's been covered for about 18 months and 50% of the paint has blistered lookley I was getting it all done anyway but the body shop said its because it's been covered up and the paint sweats and then blisters.

Same here mate. Think I'm going to leave it for a while and if the weather gets really bad just use the Halfords one for a few weeks.

Can you get a heated one? Just gives a small amount of heat to keep the cold off?
