Default Anyone good with diesel cars....

Audi A4. Was running low on diesel but it has suddenly gone bang and now won't start. Timing belt seems ok and has not snapped

Any thoughts.....

Has the little yellow engine management light come on on the dash?

Know anyone with a VAG-COM cable? That might help identify any problem.

Does the engine turn-over at all?

Timing belt could have slipped a tooth due to a faulty/siezed adjuster.

If they're anything like the 1.9TDIs, stalling it or the engine stopping suddenly can be a bit of an event. If it's run out of fuel, purging the fuel system of air may be an issue. Whatever you do, don't just sit with the car on the starter for ages, you'll likely burn it out and flatten the battery.

HTH...

2.4 V6 is a Petrol engine. 2.5 V6 is a Diesel

Try the Belt that drives the diesel pump.
