Red face

I had to pick up some parts today (a rarity).

I took the courtsey car, A standard 1.3 (or 1.4) new shape Corsa. Horrible little car. So gutless, poor ergonomics, steering wheel in the wrong position, twitchy at high speed, poor rear visibility, blah blah moan waffle crap this and poor that, you get the idea

Obviously I thrash the thing to death along the lanes skipping the rush hour traffic on the main roads. And I found that when you chuck the car into tight corners or turn into empty junctions whilst braking late, you can get the back end out good and propper

It turned me from a grumpy git to a grinning cheshire cat!

FTA to the Do-gooders. Feel free to criticise my driving. I won't listen, I know its dangerous and I'll come a cropper one day. Anyway all the oblivious sheep were on the main roads while I was on the empty country lanes (except the "baaa" kind in the fields)

Yep, Did'nt expect it in a standard Corsa though
My old MK5 XR3 was great at it.

I would have expected it to understeer to be honest. Still a crap car though

I meant to post this in "other Marques." ahh well

As was said before if you are brutal enough almost any car will do it. My Impreza included.

Wink

I found my scoob to be a lot twitchier than a Pug 306 on the bends but the 205 was the daddy for this

My MK5 escort was oversteering badly on the way to work this morning. Road were drying out after rain, but that wasnt the problem.

Got out the car at work and the left rear was almost flat!!

If you want a fwd car to oversteer lots, put a load more pressure in the rear tyres! Dont advise it, but it'll certainly oversteer.

Yeas 205's ruled at lift off oversteer! i had an mi16 205 for trackdays that a friend managed to stuff at Knockhill. They were running the track inreverse and he was caught out going down duffus dip........lifted off, introduced the read end to the tyre wall.

I got a friends mk 4 golf to do it too. The rear wheel used to lift on tight corners once he'd fitted 18's and some Bilsteins. He asked me to see how i thought the car was handling as he was concerned it wasn't right. After a few corners i decided the rear was far too stiff and changed the damper settings a bit. Seemed to work a treat........till he too stuffed into a hedge.....backwards!

No, not all cars can do it... did the same in my Rover 216 today. It just did'nt want to know, just understeered
I'm glad I'm selling the thing. Need a more interesting everyday hack, I fancy one of those Coure Avanzato's for a laugh (if I can find one).

Road trip to Wales this w/end..Time to blow the cob-webs off 'ol scooby

Yep, my VTS does it in the wet if I play with the throttle. I'm told it can do it in the dry too, if I stab on the brakes mid-corner, but that's just plain pointless, really!
