Default Bloody A1

So, with the decision made that I didnt want to take the Scoob down to Teeside to visit a rig in dock..or get the train down and spend 30 quid in taxis a day, I decided to take the Type R GT which the missus uses for work and let her use mine...saving miles and Vpower on the Scoob...

Just as well really...

Sitting on the A1 southbound just passing Morpeth, I was about 3 carlengths behind a black corsa, when suddenly I heard it clatter over something... next thing I know this sheet of black metal with a thick border gets whipped up off the road and somersaults 3 times before tw@tting my car

So 3 miles down the road I pulled over, as did the lady in the corsa...

This is what I found...

Not happy... Thats the second time ive seen an object that could cause serious damage to vehicle/persons on that stretch of road, last time I went Northbound on it there was a 10ft christmas tree lying trunk faced on lane two Northbound, I managed to avoid that one.

Not going on that F%$%$* road again...

You were lucky a bit higher and it could have gone through your windscreen.

You are right..If I was say half a car length closer I reckon with the size of it id have been brown bread.

Weird thing is.. I find myself ducking out the way when a bird hits the screen, but when this giant lump of metal was somersaulting its way to me I didnt even flinch...what the hells up with that!

Take it as a sign to keep out of England!

Just kidding, but, you should have stopped straight away, informed the Highways Agency, and awaited their attendance.

IIRC coming past Morpeth is dual carriageway with hard shoulder, so you should have been able to stop, I know I would have.

I wouldn't have carried on for 3 miles.

LOL Micky!

I was in lane 2 there wasnt a hard shoulder on the bit I was on (Between A192 and A197) id have pulled over straight away for sure!

When I did pull over I called 999 and requested the Police, who knows what poor sould could have had a worse outcome. The cop said he didnt see anything on the road at all and its up to the insurance company to repair my car.

Its actually working out cheaper me fixing the fxcking thing myself, everything apart from the "Red H" badge is very reasonably priced

You are lucky it was not worse.
