with the VAT you are talking £25 extra on a £1000 purchase, i am sure you could talk them around that without an issue, I would wait

12 week delivery lead times at DFS as they have to poorly make the sofas in China and ship them over

Nothing says failure quite like a DFS sofa. Trust me, I'm sitting on one right now!

At least wait until after Wednesday when they'll have been on Watchdog!

Try CSL, no complaints about them and I found them cheaper than DFS (Dump Furniture Store)

And they have funky little wireless tablets on them to put the sales through.

They also, for a donation of £10 take your old sofa away for you, recondition it and give it to the British Heart Foundation for either their hospices' or charity shops.

Another vote for CSL, I ordered my sofa on Thursday last week and could of had it delivered on Saturday at a cost of £15. I decided to get it delivered yesterday for free instead. Cheaper than DFS, nice range of sofas and they do the order on a Samsung Q1, while your sat on the showroom sofa of the one you ordered. They gave me a 4 hour time slot for delivery on the day and rang me half an hour before coming.

Edit: Another charity thing, they are collecting for Macmillan at the moment and will match whatever is donated.

I hope you didn't opt for one of their quick delivery Chinese Leather suites? If so, check in between the cushions as the leather cracks very quickly.

I looked at one in store and was ready to buy until I stuck my hand in between the cushions and saw the cracked leather. The sales guy tried fobbing me off saying it had been there a while (even though it was a new range)... I told him not as long as it would spend in my house and that if he was confident it wouldn't crack, throw in a free guarantee. Needless to say he didn't and i walked away

You'll find a lot companies have already increased their prices buy the 2.5% already, so in Jan they'll be doing the ''same prices as 2010'' sales, when not really loosing money.
