Sounds about right - varies depending how much you want to be ripped off by.

My interim service on sti 5 - for oil and filter was £64 including VAT (in Bristol)

It cost £15+ vat for the labour element and the service took about 25 mins

Any Vat registered garage can do it cant they as far as the warranty is concerned

Mine was done by a local garage after a nearby grey importer said it would cost £102+ vat (I dont think so!)

Just thought I`d ask as its the first time I`ve had to service my car. I was told that it would take about an hour and includes oil and filter change. I presume they will put it on the computer diagnostic machine. I cant believe it costs this much for one hour and simply attaching a lead.
My car is 17 mnths old and has 17,800 miles on it.

Cool

Sounds about right.

Personally I didn't think it was too bad after what I've paid in the past for run of the mill "family" cars.

Cost is spot-on.
Not bad for a junior supercar really....

Well you think that's cheap - I've got the deal to top them all! I had a 1st service on my EVO 6 done for £25! Well, an oil and filter change anyway. Where?

Ok, the secret's out - it was done at Halfords! but you've gotta find one with a servicing facility. Actually, the above price is for any car and includes the following:

1. However many litres of Castrol GTX Magnatex she needs.
2. Oil filter (although they don't really do 'imports' but I gave them the go-ahead after signing a disclaimer on the receipt.)
3. Labour - took about 30 minutes.

You can even watch them do the job and let me tell you - they don't rush the job - probably take more care than your average franchised Subaru/Mitsubishi Garage charging three times as much!

And the car still runs ok! (Well, AFAIK - I've swapped it now for a Scooby Doo :-) )

Gary

I'd get your oil and filter changed at least every 6000 miles, knowing the way you have to 'thrash' the car to keep it running at a decent speed! - well, keep up with the traffic in front and not create a 'traffic jam'

Seriously though for imports we have to do the service every 6000 +- 500 or the warranties invalidated - and with yours running a PPP - just thought it would be a bit safer

£74 is good from a Uk dealer!

Fair comment, but I get through 2500miles a month - 1600-1800 of which is on motorway at 75 so its not getting has worked hard as it could be! - also, as a yorkshireman, every 6000 would cost more!!
