Default "Seeing is believing" -BBC 2 Horizon

Anyone else get well and truly skull f**ked watching this last night?

What an amazing programme. Quality TV and an amazing insight into what we think is real and is not, or is it?

You're still discussing Stephen Hawkins and whether God is real aren't you?

Hawking is real enough, but no more likely to have the full answers than anyone else.

but surely you would agree a better probability of being right than believing what he is told by fairies at the bottom of the garden

Great program .... only 20% of what you see comes in through your eyes!

The Rubic Cube colour test was amazing

I have never met any fairies at the bottom of the garden. If you believe in them and you certainly appear to, how did you get an opportunity to to get an audience with them?

I enjoyed it, loved the coloured tiles on the cube.

It is almost mind boggling to think about, but then i still can not get around the fact that my colour blind mate, sees everything that is red, as brown but he thinks its red, but its really brown, or something like that

Also loved the part about the people who see colours with sounds, reminds me that i was going to google it but forgot

And what about that crazy bat bloke who rides his bike around blind

Ah yes, Neuroplasticity: one of my areas of research. Nice to see it getting some coverage! I thought it was an accessible and interesting programme. Kudos to the Beeb for making it and, moreover, not murdering the subject matter as so often happens with scientific programmes.

The "bah, bah, bah" and "Far, far , far " bit f**ked my head over. I closed my eyes and the words changed straight away.

A quality programme - just like Horizon used to be before all the arty crap and loud music!

I found the article on Synesthesia fascinating, but also the "new" sense when the guy had the "vibrating compass" strapped around his waist.

I think that i might have to watch it all over again - very impressive

It was a very interesting programme.....

I have an eye condition that means that I sometimes see things that are actually dead straight as wavy and curved. I also have times at night when I can't see dimly lit things at all. Luckily for me it only occurs in one eye and is not permanent so generally when I have both open, the brain chooses the good eye image but when I close the good eye.......things can go a bit weird....good example is on occasion I can't see my face in a mirror in a dimly lit room, just an empty black space........ OMG I have no face!!!! especially as it reappears if I look slightly away from dead centre...now I got a face, now I don't !!.....yeah it took a bit of time to get used to that one

Fortunately it has not re-occurred for a few years now...........
