The men who jump off buildings!
Did anyone here see this last night?
http://www.channel4.com/programmes/t...-off-buildings
Great TV but they must all be mad!
It did make me feel sick at least once. (you know what part I mean)
Get it watched!

I enjoyed watching that one. Must say I give them full marks for pure guts. I would like to see what that wing suit would be like, but doubt I could rustle up the nerve to try it.
I once stood next to a man who jumped off a high cliff in California with one of those microlight wing jobbers. I had to go and sit down for a bit after that!

I thought the Dark Haired one was a bit of a **** tbh, its that "cooler than thou" thing he had going, quite annoying and he looked like the bloke of the old Carling Black Label commercials. I am not sure he really liked it that much, but liked the underground nature and furtive aspects more, it is pretty irresponsbile really, they get it wrong and you are walking underneath, personally I would prefer to walk round without self obsessed nutters jumping off buildings, the chubby one mashed himself twice, you wouldnt want that landing on you !
I suspect the Base jumping fraternity were actually cringing as he was kind of giving away all their little secrets and exposing them a bit.
I was waiting for the line at the end "This programme is a tribute to <insert name of stuntman, base jumper, parachutist, serial Crocodile Botherer, Bear enthusiast etc>" 19** to 2009 - RIP", felt slightly cheated when I learnt he was still with us.

I wouldn't worry too much about them landing on you. As you may have guessed from the program, BASE jumpers aren't in the habit of doing it when many people are about. Also, the noise of a canopy opening is pretty bloody loud, and if it happened above, you'd know about it.
For those interested in the Wingsuit aspect, you might like this video. The company I work for produced it at the start of the year to show some of the things we're up to:

Just to chime in here, I know Dan, and he is really a nice chap. Obviously this was edited to dramatise it a bit and show him to be pretty cocky.

"The men who jump off buildings!" ...
... otherwise known as 'at what level of being a hopeless adrenaline-junkie should I seek professional help?'
On a more serious note though, like any well executed stunt it's spectacular to watch and probably even more of a thrill to actually do, but don't let anyone tell you that this isn't a very, very dangerous hobby - this link here makes for some truly sobering reading:

It was interesting to watch, but I couldn't help yelling teat and ******** at the tv whenever he spoke about his Mrs.
When he was asked about children and he said he would love some soon, I couldn't help but wonder who would bring a child into the world with a man who has a 1in7 (correct me if I am wrong) chance of dying everytime he leave for a jump.
His Mrs 'the viking' was open, and seemed to feel the same as me. She wasn't interested in having kids with him while he was jumping.
I'm sorry but it's a plain stupid think to do, what a bunch of idiots.

Two vids I've seen in the past...
Wingsuit base jumping. There's a larger version of this including the ascent somewhere on t'interweb.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ipx4...eature=related
Fatal wingsuit bridge flyby (no gore but could be distressing to some).
