guy pulls cop over for speeding

Maybe the cop was trying to get away from the car tailgating him at 90 mph, baiting him or putting the cop in fear as many claim on here when police "follow" them. Aren't sherrifs the same as our PCSO sover here?

Seems to be a common thing in the US this, saw a few vids of late like this.
Sherriffs are powerful people, but just for clafification he is a deputy, there is only 1 Sherriff per state (or county depending how they split it).
Over the years their role has deminished quite a bit though - although this does vary from state to state. In some states they now have state police who do the job the sherriffs office used to do, leaving the sherriffs office to tackle low level crime and deal with requests from the city court or the prisons.
They are a bit of a "catch all" type of thing IYSWIM but most often at "community level" very much like our Neighbourhood Policing Teams... just the NPTs here are a mixture of warranted officers (PCs & SPCs) and civilian officers with some specific powers (PCSOs, Wardens, Council officers etc).
