New phone time LOL
Not sure at the mo what to go for...
I really fancy the N97, but think there going to set the tarrifs too high , prolly £45 for the entry level... so a tad too high, but its got a pretty impressive spec, and 3.5 spkr jack & stereo to boot, and if its anything like the N95, conectivity will be good
The other one as quirky as it seems is the G1.. i know the camera is pov spec, but its got a qwerty keyboard & trackball/joystick which i find easy to use.. Also i like the fact that its not mainstream (android) and being open source, isnt so locked to the manufacturer
anyone used a G1? or seen the N97 in the flesh... Nokia have it for sale tarrif free, but it costs a fortune

Trying to steer away from touch screens as odd as it may seem.
I had an omnia, and whilst the phone was ok, the touch screen was a
nightmare, as soon as the phone rang, and contact with the scrren would either answer it, or can the call.
So it would ring in your pocket, be answered instantly, and by the time you fished it out, your caller would have hung up..
not good

From what you are saying Mart, I would say a Blackberry would suit your needs. I am actually on a PC at the mo, but thats becoming more and more rare by the day lol.
I am sick of going on about them now really but will sum up by saying, try one... get used to it, and you will be hooked. Internet, email, messaging, phone calls, pretty good camera for a mobile, practical to use, syscs with the PC, loads of apps available, customisable, new OS's launched regularly, sync's with the PC and multiple calenders......
Life changer, and NOT a gimmick.
PS BB messenger is addictive and I have made some great friends on it (and some rather cute ones lol)

I know someone selling one
And another person who loves theirs.
I still prefer BB's
He said he is trying to avoid touch screens
Guess it depends what you want from a phone which dictates what to get.

lol but you have to say why too.
Proper reasons, no "cos they are rubbish" lol
But they both have full qwerty's too
Fun and functional.

I had an N95... loved it. Then I upgraded to an N96.... God what a mistake... hated every minute of it after only 3 months.
Looked around for aaaaages and eventually settled for a G1.... wow what a revelation! It is definitely a gadget lovers phone but boy what a phone.... and the keyboard. Makes such a difference when trying to email.
Android convert? Definitely.... if you can wait though... Samsung are looking to bring out an Android handset in a few months. Hardware might be a lot more user friendly than HTC's offering...

It all depends on what you want in a phone. My mate has one of these 5800's and he went from an N95. he absolutely loves it as its simple and does what it does well.

but compared to the Omnia, (wm 6) they need a keypress to answer.
the omnia uses the screen, and as ive said rings/answers immidiatley, then hangs up.
The only other one that looks reasoanamle is the Tocco ultra, but its a samsung...

Im not gonna get wound up about it, I have actually run out of steam telling people to get Blackberry's now
Most of my mates are changing over to them now, so my job is done.
I think at the end of the day though, its not about getting what everyone else has or says, more getting something that is fitting to your needs and requirements from a mobile phone/media device.
For me, thats a BB. Im even DOWN grading my other phone from a 6220c to a good old 6230i

There is another quality phone due out soon but it is also touch screen and it isn't WM, wether that is a good or bad thing ??? Id does proper HD video and has a great 8mp canera. This seems to be a true one gadget fits all as it is your phone/web/camera/hd video and music all in one bundle. I don't know of any other phone due out that does true HD video ????

its out now, but if the UI is anything like the original omnia, its a bit clunky
And they haven't quite mastered virtual keyboards, & key positions
